Blomefield's History of Norfolk

In Thornham church a small 15th century postmill occupies the space at the head of the elbow rest of one of the simple and much worn wooden bench-ends (handrest style). The post is particularly sturdy and has no supports but this may be due to the exigencies of space. As with many other similar examples, a window is shown in the side of the mill.
