South Lopham postmill stood to the west of the village on the south side of the Garboldishham Road. The mill was an open trestle mill and used common sails.

Bastardy order to William Fryer of Hempnall, miller, regarding the daughter of Hannah Ward 1832
William Fryer was probably an employee and could have worked at the postmill or the towermill.

Kelly's directory of 1904 lists Robert Womack as corn merchant

Ambrose Stevens, a local threshing machine proprietor, bought the mill c.1905. He then dismantled it before taking the buck to North Lopham.
