Neatishead post windmill was working in the 1700s and could well have been working far earlier. It stood to the south of the village in a farmyard. The common sails powered a single pair of 4 ft. 10 ins. French burr stones. The mill was replaced by a new towermill in the first quarter of the 1800s.

All that new built brick and tiled Dwelling House with about one Acre of Land adjoining, also a POST WIND CORN MILL with the Flour Mill and one pair of French stones 4 ft. 10 ins. diameter, and other the going gears, standing and being in Neatishead and now in the occupation of the above named William Ebbs.
