Wiggenhall St Mary Magdalen drainage pump was built on the west bank of the River Great Ouse, just to the south of Mill Road near its junction with Stow Road. The structure was built as a six sided smockmill.

The original brick base of the mill was of a single storey but a second storey was added in the 1950s as domestic accommodation. In 2014 it was related that the current occupier's father moved to the mill after the tidal surge of 1953 destroyed his previous home and he later added the second floor.
