Norton Boyce's wind pump was built just to the south of the road and to the northeast of nearby Nogdam End. The mill had a tarred red brick tower and the sails drove a scoop wheel.

By 1989 the tower had been reduced to two storeys and had become derelict. Some years earlier a segmented conical roof had been installed but several sections susequently fell in. Internally a ladder to the first floor remained. A derelict corrugated iron shed remained adjoining the mill.
