Hickling Broad Roland Green's drainage mill was so named after the celebrated wildlife artist who once used the mill as a studio. The small mill was also known as Chapman's Mill or Hudson-Barber Mill.

Hickling Broad Mill is also known as Roland Green's Mill after the renowned artist who lived in Hickling for many years and is buried in the churchyard there.
At one time he lived on a houseboat and used this former windmill as his studio before building a new bungalow studio nearby.

2011: Mill tower still standing with observation cupola still in situ on top of tower

2019: Mill tower and cupola in good condition
