Snettisham had a postmill that was working in 1285.


On the death of Hugh, the last Earl of Sussex and Arundel, of this family in 1243 without issue, his inheritance was divided between ... but this lordshiop was assigned for life to the Lady Isabel, his late wife, ... as part of her dower; and by the escheat rolls in the 14th of Edward I ahe was found to die seized of a capital messuage, a windmill, 120 acres of land, a fishery ... with such pasture land by the sea, valued then £36. 3s. 6d. per ann.
