North Tuddenham postmill was built in 1759. Although it is shown at the location shown at the bottom of this page on Bryant's map of 1826, Faden's map of 1797 depicts it further to the west and south of the new A47 at TG03451355. However, despite there being several instances where Faden's map is foiund to be slightly inaccurate, it is possible that the mill was moved at some point. |

The mill had 4 double shuttered spring sails containing 6 bays of 3 and 1 bay of 2 on the innermost sails. The six bladed fantail along with a sack chute were on the ladder, which led up to a leanto porch. The two storey mill buck contained 2 French burh stones and an oat roller. The two doored roundhouse was brick tarred. |

Sydney Herbert Fayers and Frederick Walter Fayers formed the partnership of Fayers Brothers in October 1903. They replaced the steam engine with a Tangye oil engine c.1919 but a few years later, in 1923, the mill was dismantled. In 1925 the Fayers Brothers were listed as corn factors and they retired in 1930. Federick Walter Fayers died in 1936 and Sydney Herbert Fayers died in 1968 aged 90. |
