Holme Hale smockmill was sold to be removed shortly after it was built. The mill had common sails that drew 10 yards of cloth.

To be Sold immediately
A new built TOWER WINDMILL, that draws 10 yards of cloth (to be taken off the premises); it will be worth the notice of any person who wants a mill of this description as it will be cheap.
