Mill working via auxiliary power - 28th September 1937
Mill working via auxiliary power - 28th September 1937

Haddiscoe tower mill stood to the north of Haddiscoe between the hamlet of Thorpe and the village of Haddiscoe. O.S. maps marked the mill as Thorpe Mill. The 4 storey mill had a Norfolk boat shaped cap with a gallery and petticoat. There was a stable style door on the ground floor

One stormy night the sails started to turn against the brake causing it to smoke due to the friction. The miller managed to stop the sails by breaking a bottle and putting broken glass between the brake and the brake wheel.
