Norfolk Windmills

Deopham postmill was an early postmill and although it could have lasted for several hundred years in one form or other, it had long gone by the 1800s.

From soon after 1200 documents fairly often, for one reason or another, make mention of a windmill. Thus we know there was a windmill at Henham-on-the-Hill in Essex in 1203, one built at Deopham near Norwich in 1303 at a cost of £12. 19. 10.
