Calthorpe post mill was referred to in the 1300s and 1400s but it is not known when it was working.

N.B. No payment shown as presumably own seed and unpaid labour by manor tenants

Farm of the land ... and 6d from Thomas Walre for 1½ acres land at Mill Mount
And 2s. of Thomas Blane for 3 acres of land in one piece next the mill of the Abbot of Langley this year
