Bergh Apton postmill

Bergh Apton postmill stood at Mill Farm in Mill Road and was also known as Yelverton Mill. In 1849 the two pairs of French burr stones were powered by 1 pair of patent sails and 1 pair of common sails on a new cast iron windshaft. By 1859 the pair of common sails had apparently been replaced by patent sails and it was stated that the mill had been used for grist production for some time. However, in 1874 the mill was once again advertised as having one pair of each type of sail on a new cast iron windshaft.

William King made a will on 15th September 1800 and it was proved at Norwich on 2nd June 1801. The sole executrix was his wife Anne King and the windmill was left to her - And I give to my wife Ann my windmill.
